Classic Victorian heart kauri chest of five drawers which have graduated depths. Handmade dovetail joints on front and back sides of drawers which also have solid kauri sides,backs and bottoms. Dividers in middle of big drawers to allow for shrinking as on the solid kauri back. Wear on bottom of drawer sides so l have rebuilt them and drawers now work as new. New addition can be seen in photos. When l got the chest it had new wooden knobs. Originally it would have had knobs but as fashion changed they were replaced by metal handles. I have filled the old screw holes with hard wax and used victorian mahogany knobs. Sitting on kauri bun feet with metal castors. Very small repairs on one of the rails and bottom right hand front edge. Excellent cabinetmaking of its age. There is no borer.
