Classic art deco New Zealand made tallboy. Sticker in drawer suggests the main body is made out of the native timber taraire. Research sais furniture was made out of this wood in the 1950s which is right age of this piece. Drawer sides and backs are solid rimu and bottoms rimu ply. Dovetailed joints and lovely original metal and bakelite handles. All drawers work well.Sitting on typical deco feet and stylish detail between top and first bigger drawer. Top two drawers same depth, next one down deeper and bottom two equal size and deeper again.Small upstand at back of top. Quality cabinetmaking and there is no borer.
